It is amazing how much faster one can go with the proper equipment. Amy and I bought clipless pedals and new biking shoes and I got up to 42kph on a flat road. My bike had knobby tires on it and I was wearing heavy cargo shorts so I think I could probably go a good bit faster. The fastest I’ve gone so far this year is 53.7kph (twice). I’d like to break 60 just to say that I have but I was pretty sure I was inches from death both times I hit 53.

You’ve turned your wife into a frog? Not very princely of you.
Your father was caught speeding on his bike when a lad. Better mount a radar detector beside your bell.
Now – that’s a speeding ticket worth bragging about…
… if only it were true…
We had some hills in the park where we were camping that could have beat 53.7 but we would surely have died.
You could break 60 going down the hill at the Bay of Fundy National Park. In face I’m sure you could break more than 60.
I was worried about breaking my arms, legs and back.
Papa Bob:
I recall this story – childhood legend? When you cycled from home to the cottage, you said you broke the speed limit. Maybe I’ve embellished the memory…?
