I’ve found that any time I go into a real, legitimate art supply store (ie. anything nicer than Michaels) I get embarrassed and flustered and don’t buy anything because I feel like I am in some way faking it. Also in New York we saw a foot-wide paintbrush that cost $600. Did not buy that. [...]
I was fooling around with some drawing inks that Amy gave me and this is what popped out. The colours are not exactly subtle. I found the oompa-loompa-ness of it terrifying so I desaturated the frightfulness out of it. Here’s the original: they both just ran away
I spent most of today cleaning up my Christmas present. It’s one of these bad boys: Underwood Standard Number 5 that dates from sometime around 1906 (the one I have isn’t as pretty as that one but it is functional due to my ministrations). I wrote two letters on it, too! silently holding on
A bit more posemaniacs 30-second quick gesture stuff and then a few things from a different biology text book. Progress is slow but I figure it took me years how to read and write and drawing is basically doing both at the same time so I oughtn’t to be too hard on myself. take time
