Tonight we went for dinner with my sisters and brother-in-law and Daniel (our exchange student) and his friend Miguel.  We went to a Boston Pizza that’s recently opened just outside of Burlington (Clappison’s Corners now has more than a streetlight and a Wendy’s/Tim Horton’s!).

When we sat down to read our menus, Daniel and Miguel started giggling.  Then they asked me how the word ‘penne’ is pronounced in Canada.  It turns out that ‘penne’ is also a spanish word.  It does not mean small, tubular pasta.  It means small, tubular something else.
